About the Office
Mission. Sansonnet exists to handle the working life of an artist with the same care she gives the work. The Office negotiates engagements, conducts press, and arranges logistics — quietly, and without external publicists. The Office considers a small number of new representations each year.
History. Sansonnet has been continuously in practice for six decades. Across that period the Office has remained women-led.
1964. Founded in Paris by Mlle Cosette Sansonnet, formerly an administrator with a leading Paris theater company. The Office takes the founder’s name. It opens in the 7th arrondissement with two rooms, no signage, and a closed list of artists carried over from her previous post.
1986. On Mlle Sansonnet’s retirement, direction passes to Mme Geneviève Soulié, an associate in the Office since 1971. The clientele and the name are unchanged; the Office has always been known as Sansonnet.
2003. Mme Florence Lavergne succeeds Mme Soulié as Directrice. The Office begins to take artists working outside France, principally in London, Berlin, and New York. The telephone line is retired in favor of written correspondence.
2022. On Mme Lavergne’s retirement, Mlle Ortansa Pellier is appointed Directrice. The archive, correspondence, and client relationships pass intact. The Office continues from Paris.
Direction: Mlle Pellier, Directrice.
Correspondence: Mme Rouvel, Concierge Générale, since 2007.
